A lot has happened since my last entry. I saw my wife do the bravest thing possible. She admitted she was not well, mentally and sought professional help.
The importance of a great support team
While at work she called her doctors office and informed them of what she was felling and asked for help. Her doctor’s office tried to keep her at work till I got there but my wife knew she had to remove herself from that environment ASAP. So they quickly adaped to the situation & kept her on the phone till she arrived at the treatment facility. While all this was going on her doctors office reached out to me while I was at work and informed me of the sitation, they need proceeded to keep me informed until I found her near the treatment facility. GPS had gotten her close but it was a maze of a parking lot and she had smartly just parked it. She knew I was looking for her.
No 5150 for her 😎
It was a seven day stay with limited contact, with the outside world. She was a voluntary admission and not a state hold of a 5150. I got to see her one time for an hour sitting across from each other, but got to speak on the phone often. I got 5-10 calls a day. Each time I reassured her how proud of her I was of her, I loved her and that I wasn’t going anywhere. This was not the first time, she has been inpatient, nor was it the first time I have had to deal with a loved one being inpatient. I knew for a good recovery confidence in self worth and knowing you are loved is important.
